The gag bit encourages the horse to lift its head. It is often used for horses that work behind the bit. When the rider takes up the reins, the mouthpiece slides upward, creating pressure in the corners of the mouth and at the poll. The bit can be used with one or two reins, or with pelham straps. In most cases, it is used with two reins: one rein is attached normally to the bit, and the other to one of the lower rings or the end of the gag straps. This allows the rider to use the gag action only when truly necessary. This bit is not suitable for inexperienced riders.
The Inno Sense mullen is a straight bar that curves slightly forward. This mouthpiece is made of synthetic material. It contains a rigid core, which means the mullen bar is not flexible but still feels soft.
Bits from the Inno Sense collection can be used for all horses but are especially suitable for young horses and horses with sensitive mouths. The Inno Sense material contains no plasticizers and is therefore not harmful to the horse’s health. Horses ridden with an Inno Sense mouthpiece follow the hand easily and accept the bit quickly.
The bits from TRUST Equestrian are authentically Dutch. All bits are designed, developed, and handmade in the Netherlands. Every day, a team of technical professionals works on production. The bits are assembled with the greatest care and made from the finest materials, resulting in very high standards of quality control. For every design, the balance between shape, material, and weight is carefully considered. TRUST bits are slightly curved so they follow the shape of the horse’s mouth more naturally. Due to this anatomical design, the bit sits more comfortably in the mouth and distributes pressure more evenly. With a wide range of mouthpieces, cheekpieces, and materials, TRUST strives to offer a suitable bit for every horse.
