The mouthpiece – Double-jointed

The mouthpiece is double-jointed and anatomically shaped. Because of this shape, the mouthpiece follows the shape of the horse’s mouth. This way, pressure is evenly distributed on the tongue, lips and layers.

A double-jointed structure provides a more even pressure than a single-jointed mouthpiece. Therefore, this creates a more stable and comfortable feeling for many horses, without compromising the clarity of the aids. For horses with a very narrow lower jaw, it is always important to fit carefully, so that the joint points have sufficient space.

The cheekpiece – Eggbutt

The eggbutt cheekpiece is known for its fixed, stable construction. Since the rings do not move freely through the mouthpiece, the bit remains calmer in the horse’s mouth. This results in:
• A direct and clear rein-to-bit communication and response
• Less vertical movement of the bit
• More confidence in horses that are sensitive to movement in the mouth. The stable position makes this cheekpiece particularly suitable for horses that benefit from consistent contact and clear boundaries.

The material – Sweet Iron

The material is made from Sweet Iron, a material that actively contributes to relaxation in the mouth. When in contact with moisture, a natural oxidation process occurs. This produces a slightly sweet taste and stimulates saliva production. Sufficient saliva production supports a soft connection and encourages relaxation in the jaw. The characteristic blue colour of Sweet Iron gradually changes to a brownish-grey through a natural process. This is a normal and intended effect that is part of the material’s function. While coatings may wear over time, the core of high-quality steel retains its performance and reliability over the long term.
