The pelham cheekpiece combines the action of a snaffle with that of a curb. The bit has a single cheekpiece but can be ridden with one or two reins. When choosing to ride with one rein, a pelham strap is required to connect the bit rings to the shank rings. The pelham is a mouthpiece with leverage. The longer the shanks, the stronger the action. The baby pelham has short shanks and therefore has a milder effect than the regular pelham. A pelham bit is mainly used for strong horses, horses with limited space in the mouth for two mouthpieces, or horses that need to get used to a curb. This bit is not suitable for inexperienced riders.
The Inno Sense mullen is a straight bar that curves slightly forward. This mouthpiece is made of synthetic material. It contains a rigid core, making the mullen bar inflexible but still soft to the touch.
Bits from the Inno Sense collection can be used for all horses, but they are especially suitable for young horses and horses with sensitive mouths. The Inno Sense material contains no plasticizers and is therefore not harmful to the horse’s health. Horses ridden with an Inno Sense mouthpiece follow the hand easily and accept the bit quickly.
The bits from TRUST Equestrian are authentically Dutch. All bits are designed, developed, and handmade in the Netherlands. Every day, a team of technical professionals works on production. The bits are assembled with great care and made from the finest materials, resulting in very high quality standards. For every design, the balance between shape, material, and weight is carefully considered. TRUST bits are slightly curved so they better follow the shape of the horse’s mouth. Due to this anatomical design, the bit sits more comfortably in the mouth and distributes pressure more evenly. With a wide selection of mouthpieces, cheekpieces, and materials, TRUST strives to offer a suitable bit for every horse.
